Some of the Year 2 children at St Gregory's Catholic Academy are enjoying an exciting start to the school year through their after-school football club.
The popular club is providing pupils with the opportunity to stay active, have fun and develop important skills both on and off the pitch.
Learning Through Sport
Alongside enjoying football matches and games, children have been working hard to improve their ball skills and build their confidence.
The sessions encourage pupils to develop key sporting techniques while learning the importance of practice, perseverance and determination.
Building Teamwork and Resilience
The football club is about much more than just sport. Through working together as a team, pupils are learning valuable life skills such as cooperation, communication and resilience.
Children are being encouraged to support one another, celebrate success and keep trying when faced with new challenges, helping to build confidence and positive attitudes.
Active, Engaged and Having Fun
Staff have been delighted to see the enthusiasm shown by the children, who have embraced every session with energy and excitement.
The after-school club is providing a fantastic opportunity for pupils to stay active, make new friendships and enjoy learning new skills in a fun and supportive environment.
Everyone at St Gregory's Catholic Academy is proud of the effort and commitment shown by the Year 2 footballers, and looks forward to seeing their continued progress throughout the year.
